Teen coaching for adolescents
Adolescence is one of the most challenging periods in life. It is defined as a time of transition, the shift from childhood to adulthood, with significant physical changes, and one of the most important stages in the creation of personal identity. It is a time of change and confusion, where it is crucial for adolescents to be guided and supported in finding their way.
The adolescent is a “newborn adult” who still doesn’t know how to be an adult. Most notably, during this transition, they often lack a sense of responsibility, a clear role, and direction. They lack confidence in their abilities, which they may not even be aware of, feel inadequate, fear judgment, and often experience anxiety and stress due to insecurities related to school tasks.
Having good self-esteem during this stage of life is essential for the adolescent to develop properly
Adolescents need listening, trust, esteem, and love, but they often display a sense of challenge and disinterest. Beyond these difficulties, adolescents possess something wonderful: the ability to create and the potential that, if they don’t find contexts to express themselves, they suffer and exhibit discomfort that can lead to boredom, low academic performance, or even a deep existential crisis.
Having good self-esteem during this stage of life is crucial for the adolescent to develop properly and become mentally and emotionally stable. Self-esteem influences relationships; if an adolescent has good self-esteem, they will have a much greater chance of forming quality relationships with others. On the other hand, if they have low self-esteem, they will face serious difficulties in developing their social skills.
